Yes. We take the wall down to a sound base, sort and reclaim the stone, and rebuild it to bond with proper hearting and through stones so it stands rather than coming back apart.
A drystone wall is built without mortar, held by the fit of the stone, its batter and the through stones. A mortared wall is bedded and pointed. We build both, and advise which suits the setting and the stone.
In most cases yes. We work in the same stone and the same style of coursing and coping so a repair or extension to a wall carries on the same line and look.
Yes. Gate piers, cheek ends and copes are part of finishing a wall properly, set square and level and capped to keep the water out of the top.
