Glasgow & the central belt

Based in Glasgow and travelling up to 50 miles out, right across the central belt, from the tenements of the city to the sandstone suburbs and old burghs beyond. Heritage jobs considered further afield. The list below is a guide, not a limit.

Glasgow

Glasgow is home, so most weeks we are on sandstone somewhere in the city, from the blonde and red tenements of the West End to terraces on the south side.

Paisley

Paisley has a strong old core around the Abbey and streets of good stone, and we cover it regularly for heritage and repointing work.

Bearsden

Bearsden is full of good sandstone villas and garden walls, and it is a short run north of the city for us.

Milngavie

Milngavie sits just past Bearsden with a mix of stone villas and older cottages, well within our patch.

Newton Mearns

Newton Mearns runs from older stone villas to newer housing on the south side, and we take on both repair and new stone work there.

Giffnock

Giffnock is solid sandstone territory on the south side, close to the city, and a steady patch for repair and walling.

East Kilbride

East Kilbride is mostly new town, but the old village and its church are stone, and there is plenty of walling and feature work across the estates.

Clarkston

Clarkston sits on the south side between Giffnock and Newton Mearns, good stone housing and easy for us to reach.

Rutherglen

Rutherglen is an old royal burgh with a fine Main Street and stone tenements, just across the river and a regular patch for us.

Cambuslang

Cambuslang sits next to Rutherglen with a mix of tenement and villa stone, an easy run south-east of the city.

Hamilton

Hamilton has a good stock of older stone buildings and a strong sense of its history, well within reach down the M74.

Motherwell

Motherwell mixes older stone terraces with newer housing, and Strathclyde Park sits on its doorstep.

Wishaw

Wishaw sits beside Motherwell in the Clyde valley, its older stone terraces the kind of stock we work on.

Airdrie

Airdrie has a fine stone town centre and terraces to match, out to the east and well within our patch.

Coatbridge

Coatbridge sits next to Airdrie with its own stock of stone terraces, an easy run east for us.

Kirkintilloch

Kirkintilloch is an old canal town with a conservation core and good stone, out to the north-east and regular ground for us.

Bishopbriggs

Bishopbriggs is a stone suburb just north of the city, quick to reach and steady for repair and walling.

Clydebank

Clydebank sits west along the river, its surviving stone tenements and older streets the sort of work we take on.

Renfrew

Renfrew is an old royal burgh with a stone core, close to Paisley and an easy run west of the city.

Johnstone

Johnstone sits just beyond Paisley in Renfrewshire, its stone terraces the kind of stock we cover.

Dumbarton

Dumbarton is an old burgh under its castle rock, out west down the river and within reach for heritage work.

Stirling

Stirling’s old town is some of the finest stone in the country, and heritage jobs there are well worth the run north for us.

Falkirk

Falkirk sits east on the Antonine Wall with an old stone centre, and we cover it for heritage and repointing work.
